Last year, Ranch Mart marked its 50th and 60th anniversary with a celebration reminiscent of the ‘Country Fair’ event the Regnier family put on annually at the center. So many people had fond memories of fun times at Ranch Mart, and scores of folks enjoyed “A Walk Through Ranch Mart History”, a museum of sorts curated by Cathy Regnier over the years of all things Ranch Mart, once again on display in the Glenwood Arts Theater level. Although there won’t be any greased pigs to catch, and the new ‘Little Miss Ranch Mart’ will not be coronated, there will be lots of excitement at the corner of 95th and Mission on the 17th.
The Ranch Mart Express has once again been resurrected, and train rides will shuttle passengers around the event attractions. Features include giant inflatables, carnival games (with prizes!), aerial performances throughout the day, live music and a dj in the beer garden, and once again, our favorite exotic animal petting zoo! There will be food and drinks for purchase, and the Cotton Candy Man joins us for the fun this year.
A throwback to those early times, there will be a coloring contest with prizes awarded in three age categories. Entries may be picked up in most stores of Ranch Mart, and turned to Johnson County Management office in advance, or just come to the coloring contest tent and create your masterpiece.
