United Way of Greater Kansas City (UWGKC) is proud to host its fourth #LoadsofLoveKC campaign as part of Giving Tuesday.
Since 2016, UWGKC has served Kansas City Public Schools, Raytown School District and Hickman Hills School District through its Giving Tuesday movemennt. This year, they are expanding their program to reach outside of Jackson County and across the state line to benefit Belton and Shawnee Mission School District.
Every day, students across the KC region miss class because they don’t have access to clean clothes. With your help, United Way KC can provide on-site washer/dryer resources that will not only provide kids with laundered clothes, but provide tools for life-skills classrooms, and give the added support they need to consistently attend class and be ready to learn. Providing these resources has a real impact on students, increasing attendance by up to 50% in some schools!
UWGKC aim to raise $25,000 in 24 hours to purchase washers, dryers and laundry supplies for area schools in an effort to help increase student attendance.
